• Rockbrook A.D. Limited has developed and operates a renewable energy generation plant at Ballyroan, Co Laois. • Rockbrook uses the process of anaerobic digestion to generate renewable energy. • Food waste is a raw material for the resource recovery • In brief, we take organic materials including food waste and by-products not fit for consumption, including those with packaging, and convert it into renewable energy and fertiliser. • The renewable energy consists of electricity, that is fed into the national grid, and heat that is used locally (this will include Sue Ryder Centre and a church). • Our plant contributes to renewable energy targets and in the fight against climate change as it reduces greenhouse gas emissions.
